In the Terres de Nacre region, our wide choice of hiking trails will delight all hikers or those who simply want to walk.

In the heart of the beaches of Calvados, discover our seaside resorts through five hiking trails.

You can admire the historical, architectural and natural heritage of the towns of Courseulles-sur-Mer, Bernières-sur-Mer, Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer, Langrune-sur-Mer and Luc-sur-Mer.

Rando Sympa of Courseulles-sur-Mer

Ideally located on the D-Day Beaches, Courseulles-sur-Mer was once an important oyster farming site and had no less than 300 oyster beds, only one of which still exists on Île de Plaisance.

During your trip, you will walk through the picturesque alleys of the Vieux Courseulles.

You will also discover many sites and monuments related to the D-Day landings, such as the Lorraine Cross marking the arrival of General de Gaulle on June 14, 1944.

Rando Sympa of Courseulles-sur-Mer (.pdf)

Rando Sympa of Bernières-sur-Mer

Located on Juno Beach, Bernières-sur-Mer has many remains of the Atlantic Wall. Discover the emblematic Canada House, which was the first French house to be liberated on D-Day.

During your walk, you will be able to admire some very beautiful residences, some of which are classified as Historical Monuments such as the Manor of La Luzerne or the church of Notre-Dame de la Nativité dating from the 12th century.

In town, 2 memory tours allow you to discover the history of the D-Day landing.

Historical guided tours are regularly offered.

Rando Sympa of Bernières-sur-Mer (.pdf)

Rando Sympa of Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer

Located in the heart of the Terres de Nacre beaches, Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer will seduce you with its gentle lifestyle.

Starting from the cliff of the Cap Romain, you will take a walk along many narrow streets, typical of the city’s architecture, which once housed fishermen’s houses. Continuing on the dike, you can stop in front of the magnificent Villa "La Loggia", characteristic of the Belle Epoque period.

Rando Sympa of Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer (.pdf)

Rando Sympa of Langrune-sur-Mer

Langrune-sur-Mer, a small fishing village in the Middle Ages, was a popular place for swimming in the 20th century. After a break in the Bois Joli Park, push the doors of the church of Saint-Martin, one of the most beautiful buildings in Calvados and listed as a Historical Monument since 1840.

Guided tours of the church take place every Thursday afternoon at 2.30 pm.

Rando Sympa of Langrune-sur-Mer (.pdf)

Rando Sympa of Luc-sur-Mer

A seaside resort with its Thalasso and casino dating back to the end of the 19th century, Luc-sur-Mer is the ideal place to come and recharge your batteries. Stroll to the end of the pier to enjoy the view of the coast. During your walk, you will be surprised by an unusual discovery as you enter the Municipal Park. You will come face to face with a 19-metre long whale skeleton that was washed up on the beach in 1885. You will also walk along the valley of La Capricieuse by taking the pedestrian path, a pleasant and bucolic walk.

In season, historical guided tours are regularly offered. The programme is available at the tourist office.
